About Black Belt of Karate
Since 2001, Black Belt of Karate has been the only full time (Tang Soo Do ) Korean Martial Arts School teaching the Traditional Art of Tang Soo Do, open six days a week. We offer a flexible schedule to fit even the busiest lifestyle. We hold classes in the mornings, afternoons and evenings. All of our staff are full time employees as well as devoted Martial Artists. We are relentlessly dedicated to the progress and success of each individual on our team.
We offer a well-balanced Martial Arts (Tang Soo Do) program. We emphasize both physical development as well as character building. The life skills acquired by our students become an invaluable asset. Through positive reinforcement and repetition, we instill values while simultaneously working on the progress of the many physical benefits in class.
We offer a Martial Art (Tang Soo Do) Program to children as young as four years old and up through adulthood. We help children of all ages to develop concentration, self-discipline, following directions, develop gross motor skills, flexibility and overall physical fitness. We individualize our curriculum so that each student has an opportunity to develop, regardless of his or her age. We offer a large adult program, capable of addressing the many different physical needs and hectic responsibilities that accompany adulthood. Most of our adult students come to us with no previous martial arts experience. We specialize in working with beginners of all ages as well as people returning to the Art. We help adults achieve weight loss, flexibility, overall improved health and physical fitness, along with self-defense, confidence and leadership skills.
As students advance in their training they will have limitless opportunities to grow. Depending on the dedication and ambition of each individual, they can become as involved in the Martial Art of Tang Soo Do as they desire. They can participate in our Demo Team, Tournament Team, Swat Team, Storm Team, Master Club and Black Belt Club.
We empower each student to develop self-esteem and confidence by working with them to set short and long term goals. We guide our students to identify challenges. By helping students to recognize their own ability to overcome challenges and assists in their growth mentally and physically within our program. The foundation for success is a "can do" attitude.
We strive to cultivate a family atmosphere, placing a strong emphasis on teamwork, and including everyone as an equal teammate. We can't stress enough the positive impact the support of one's family can make upon their training and the achievement of their goals. Success requires commitment. Challenges may arise and nothing helps a student more than the continued encouragement and support from loved ones. We encourage family and friends to become involved in special events and activities.

We offer a special event each month in order to provide an opportunity for the students to socialize with one another and the staff. The events are a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to get involved, join in or help out. All are welcome. Some of the special events we run are The Canadian National Tang Soo Do Championships, In-School Karate Tournaments, Gladiator Night, Halloween Parties, Craft Day, Video Game Night, Movie Night, picnics, special holiday events and many more. We sponsor and run the only Canadian Tang Soo Do Championship in Canada. Each year we give each student an opportunity to experience the thrill of competing. We also offer Summer Karate Camp, Spring Break Karate Camp and Karate Birthday Parties.
